These are just two of the questions explored by Francis Agyei in two urban poor communities while conducting his PhD research.
Agyei presented his research findings during a 3 minute thesis competition (3MT) between the University of Ghana and University of Nairobi.

The University of Ghana, in collaboration with the University of York, organised a 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition between the University of Ghana and the University of Nairobi, Kenya in June 2019.
The 3MT competition brought together ten PhD candidates from University of Ghana and University of Nairobi, Kenya to educate and engage an audience with their research in just three minutes.
The graduate researchers came from across disciplines to pitch their thesis and communicate the impact of their research to a judging panel and an audience of academics and members of the public. The top three received prizes which included a research visit to University of York as well as cash prizes.
